The Cross is a campus ministry currently available only to the students at The University of Tennessee. We are distinguished by our unique vision, which includes our values, strategies, and doctrinal convictions.

Since our conception in the spring of 1999, we have assisted hundreds of students in their understanding of the gospel. Through creative mediums, we provide students with a platform to share with their peers about their own personal relationship with their Creator. The response from the students, administration, and area churches has been encouraging as the Lord has continued to open doors for the propagation of His Word.

In 2001 The Cross, Greek Christian Ministries, Inc., was acknowledged by the IRS as a fully functional 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization. In June of that same year, Chad Scruggs was hired by the newly formed board of directors to act as the initial Executive Director to provide oversight for the ministry.

In the years since we began our work, the Lord in His grace has provided countless opportunities for in-depth growth, all the while adding people to His kingdom. The vision has remained the same throughout the birthing and infant stage of development: to establish and equip students in the gospel, while maintaining a special focus on students involved in fraternities and sororities. Our prayer is consistent with that of the Psalmist's:

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness. (Psalm 115:1)
